Legal design for understanding

How can legal design be used to promote sustainable development goals?

This was the topic discussed at the Legal Design Summit side event organised by SIS VENTURES, a social impact enterprise that seeks to promote sustainable social change through empowering the entrepreneurship of immigrant women in Finland. Under the title legal design for empowerment and understanding assistant professor Helena Haapio from the University of Vaasa, post-doctoral researcher Petra Hietanen-Kunwald from the University of Helsinki/COMI and Jarmo Sareva, ambassador for innovation at the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs presented their views on promoting access to justice and equality, two sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that was adopted by the United Nations in 2015.
